Howard Truitt

Howard Truitt, age 65 of Perham, MN died Wednesday, July 10, 2024 in Perham Living from complications of cancer.

Howard James Truitt was born in Perham on May 9, 1959, the son of Sylvester and Eleanor (Loerzel) Truitt. Although Howard graduated from Perham High School, his farming and life education started at home at a very young age. He started milking cows at age six and throughout his life Howard taught himself to be quite an electrician, engineer, welder, builder, repairman, and veterinarian. Howard was very knowledgeable about his cattle and with his brother Roy, overhauled many tractor engines on the farm. Even though Howard wasn’t careless with his money, he won’t be remembered as an accountant. He would’ve much rather worked on fixing something with his hands versus deal with numbers or spreadsheets. When he wasn’t farming or fixing, Howard enjoyed an occasional ride on his motorcycle, a drive in his Camaro, or a Sunday snowmobile trail run with friends.

Howard will be deeply missed by his brothers Roy, Louis (Cheryl), and Arlen; his nieces and nephews LaTonya, Danielle, Zachary, Margaret, Matthew, Arlen, and Scott; and his uncles Tom Loerzel and Mike Loerzel.

Preceding Howard in death were his parents; his brother Earl; sister-in-law Carla.
