Hazel Enslin

Funeral services for Hazel Doris Enslin, age 85, of Perham, MN, will be Saturday, November 27, 2004, beginning at 11:00 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Perham with Reverend Roger Parks officiating. Burial will follow in the Perham Village Cemetery. Visitation at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, is from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 26, 2004, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., as well as one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Hazel died Monday, November 22, 2004, at the Perham Memorial Hospital, one day before her birthday.



Hazel was born November 23, 1918, the daughter of Herbert A. and Fannie (Phillips) Marchant, in Sauk Center, MN. In 1926, she moved with her parents and siblings to Bonanza, Oregon. While living in Oregon, she was employed as a welder, building ships at the Kaiser Corporation plant in Portland. On June 22, 1941, Hazel married Clarence Wilbur and they resided in Detroit Lakes, MN. Clarence died, as a result of injuries from an accident, in August 1948. On February 22, 1952, Hazel and Herman Enslin were married in Perham. Their home was in rural Perham, in Gorman Township, where they farmed until retiring in 1993. The couple traveled over the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, during their early retirement years. After continuing to live on the farmstead until January 2004, Hazel and Herman made their home at the Frazee Care Center until her unexpected death.



Surviving Hazel is her loving husband of 52 years, Herman, of Frazee, MN; one son, Robert (Renee) Wilbur, of Coon Rapids, MN; one daughter, Marie (Vince) Brekken, of Crookston, MN; four grandchildren, Shawn (Stacy) Wilbur and Chad Wilbur, both of Ramsey, MN, Travis Brekken, of Crookston, MN, and Jocelyn Brekken, of St. Paul, MN; three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Alissa (Chad) and Aleia and Kyle (Shawn and Stacy), all of Ramsey, MN; three sisters, Ruby McLean, Beatty (Ray) Jones and Pearl Tjoelker, all of Oregon; sisters-in-law, Joanna Marchant, also of Oregon and Lydia (Enslin) Stebbins, of Perham, MN, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.



Preceding Hazel in death were her parents; her first husband, Clarence; one brother, Ray Marchant and one sister, Dorothy Martin.
