, and confirmed at

Church

. Harold went to school in St. Hilaire until the eighth grade and then to
Lincoln
High School
in
Thief
River
Falls
. He entered the US Army in 1960 and was honorably discharged in 1962. Harold was married to Karen Mosbeck in 1962 and to this union, three sons were born; Jeff, Tim, and Bruce. He was later married to Marcheta Cummings and to this union was born Amy.
Harold had been employed at Consumer Co-op and also for
School District
564 as lead man in maintenance. In 1976, Harold, Marcheta, and the family moved to Perham where Harold purchased Perham Auto Wrecking which he continued to own and operate until the time of his death. Harold belonged to
Calvary
Lutheran
Church
in Perham and was a proud member of the
Lakes
Lions
in Perham. In 2008 Harold received the Helen Keller Award which he was so honored to have gotten. He volunteered at many benefits as a Thrivent member for Lutherans where they nicknamed him, The Sausage Man. He loved collecting rocks and shells on his and Marky’s many travels. Harold has also helped build a house in
Jamaica
with
Mission
Jamaica
. Harold’s greatest treasure was his family and grandchildren and spending time with family and friends at the cabin on
Marian
Lake
. He loved his fishing trips to
Canada
with his son, Jeff, and son-in-law, Jed, over the last few years. Harold was a loving, caring grandpa and his grandchildren meant the world to him.
Harold is survived by his wife, Marcheta “Marky”, Perham, MN; one son, Jeff (Diane) Van de Streek, Detroit Lakes, MN; daughter, Amy (Jed) Nelson, Thief River Falls, MN; daughter-in-law, Sue Van de Streek, Ottertail, MN; Grandpa’s favorite “nuisances”, Brianna, Ashley, Michaela, Taylor, Alexee, Jaimee, Adam, Austin, Laura, Amanda, Stacy, Tressa, Billy, Nikki, Jessica, and Paige; and adopted families, Kenny and Jackie Altstad, Perham, MN; Jerry and Brenda Dewar, Perham, MN; and Keith and Stacey Hovelson, Audubon, MN; siblings, Mildred Robinson, Dorothy Moorhouse, Edward Van de Streek, Ruth Roos, June Jorgenson, Barb Nelson, and Muriel Waura.
Preceding Harold in death are his parents; two sons, Bruce, December 1983, and Tim Van de Streek, December 2002; sister, Evelynn Swanson; and in-laws, Elton and Evelynn Cummings and Richard and Mabel Mosbeck.
