Memorial services for Harold Ernest LaDean, age 67, of Perham, MN, will be held at 1:00 p.m., in the United Methodist Church in Perham, on Thursday, November 18, 2004, with Reverend Roger Parks officiating. A time of gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Schoeneberger Funeral Home in Perham, Wednesday, November 17, 2004, as well as one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Harold died Monday, November 15, 2004, in Fargo, North Dakota, at the Villa Maria Nursing Home.
Harold was born the son of Alfred and Hildur (Sundvick) LaDean, in Duluth, MN, on November 29, 1936. He lived and attended school in Wrenshall, MN. Harold moved to Mahtowa, MN, for a short time. On November 9, 1956, he was united in marriage to Nancy Looker, in Duluth, MN. The couple relocated to Bellwood, IL, where Harold worked for Holiday Gas for seven years. They then came back to Minnesota to live in Miltona. Harold was employed at Bellanka Aircraft and Land O' Lakes in nearby Alexandria. In 1991, Harold came to Perham to continue working at the Land O' Lakes plant, as a boiler operator, retiring in 1999. Since that time, he worked at the Country Pine Apartments in Perham in maintenance. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, cutting wood and crafts.
Surviving Harold is his wife, Nancy, of Perham, MN son, Kevin LaDean, of Perham, MN; two daughters, Tammy (Ralph) Diedrich, of Alexandria, MN and Linda LaDean, of Lonsdale, MN; eight grandchildren, Marlin LaDean, Joseph LaDean, Devin Wagner, Gabriel Diedrich, Mellisa LaDean, Matthew Diedrich, Nathan Rolfes, and Kyle Diedrich; two great-grandchildren, Cassandra and Markus LaDean; one sister, Delores (Herbert) Grimm, of Mahtowa, MN and one brother, Gordon (Kathy) LaDean, of Missouri.
Preceding Harold in death were his parents; daughter, Sandra LaDean and sister, Gloria Clay.
