Glen Botzet

Glen Botzet, age 71 of Perham, MN passed away at home surrounded by family after a battle with cancer on Monday, April 3, 2023. Glen had been under the devoted care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. A gathering of family and friends will be 1:00-4:00 p.m. with a service and sharing at 1:00 on Saturday, April 22 at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service.

Glen Benjamin Botzet was born December 12, 1951 in Parkers Prairie, MN, the son of Peter and Fern (Gunderson) Botzet. Glen was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He was a 1971 high school graduate of Parkers Prairie High School. Also in 1971, Glen was drafted into the military, serving six years in the Army National Guard. He was united in marriage to Mona Wallner on May 23, 1973 and together they raised their five children in the Ulen/Hitterdal area. Glen was employed in the fertilizer and chemical field from 1976-1999 and rose to a management position. He also owned and operated his own agriculture business for three years. Glen and Mona eventually moved to Perham where Glen retired. He enjoyed fishing, county fairs, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Preceding Glen in death were his parents Peter Botzet and Fern Wiederich; his daughter Karen; and two sisters Lorraine Doop and Gladys Johnson.

Surviving Glen are his wife Mona; sons Aaron (Amy) of Bertha, MN, Christopher (Hope) of Ulen, MN, and Michael of Perham; daughter Carmen of Fargo, ND; grandchildren Christopher, Kendra, Gunner, Kaitlyn, Emmalee, Aricka, and Ally; brothers Harold (Betty), Gene (Doris), and Larry (Starr); and sisters Connie and Darla.
