Geraldine Lillis

On Saturday, June 16, 2018, the Lord called another angel to join him in Heaven, Geraldine M. Lillis.

Geraldine was under the care of Knute Nelson Hospice at the Henning Rehab and Care Center in Henning, MN when she passed away. She was 77 years old.

Geraldine was born at home, in Dead Lake Township, to Ned and Pauline (Schmidt) Lillis on December 26, 1940. Geraldine was disabled at birth and lived at home for a number of years before joining group homes in Cambridge, Brainerd, Fergus Falls, Dent and finally at the Janu Group Home in Frazee, MN.

Geraldine worked at the Productive Alternative Center in Perham for over 30 years. She took her job very seriously and was so proud of the work she did. A big enjoyment in her work was the money she earned, even though little, it meant the world to her. She also enjoyed all the people she worked with immensely.

Geraldine was a very sociable, happy, fun-loving person. She liked music and had special songs she sang all the time. When she got the opportunity, she also enjoyed dancing. Her room was full of stuffed animals, teddy bears and lots of dolls – they were all precious to her.

She is survived by her two sisters Lois (Ralph) Weis and Janette Papenfuss; one brother Ed (JoAnne) Lillis; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special caring family for the last 15 years, Keith and Beth Janu, their son Daniel, daughter Whitney and their family dog Sophie. Additionally, she is survived by her housemates Liz and Marie and a very special friend from Productive Alternatives, Clifford.

Preceding her in death were her parents Ned and Pauline; and brothers Paul, Jack and Richard Lillis.

Visitation will be 3:00-4:00 p.m. followed by the memorial service at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27 at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service in Perham. Chaplain Lindsay Jones will officiate. Lunch and fellowship will follow the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Richville Village Cemetery, Richville, MN.
