The funeral service for Geraldine M. Herdzina, 81, Perham, MN will be held on Monday, August 16, 2004 at 10 a.m. in St. Lawrence Catholic Church-Rush Lake, rural Perham with Father Kevin Schwartz officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 7 p.m. in the Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham and also one hour prior to the service in the church. She died on Thursday, August 12 in the Perham Memorial Hospital.
Geraldine Marie Yechout was born the daughter of Dr. Joseph and Anna (Ptrezelka) Yechout on October 23, 1922 in Omaha, NE. There she was raised and attended school graduating from Central High School. Following she worked for Brandies Department Store in Omaha. She was united in marriage to Robert Herdzina on September 5, 1942 in Fort McClellan, Alabama. They lived in various areas during the time that her husband, Robert, served in the armed forces. Following his service, they moved back to Omaha and there they owned and operated Bob?s Pharmacy. They retired in 1984 and in 1988, they moved to their retirement home on Rush Lake, near Perham. He died in August of 1991.
She enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.
She is survived by two sons, Bob Jr. (Barbara) of Frazee, MN, Bill (Annette) of Ramsey, MN, three daughters, Barbara (Merlin) Brugmann of Papillion, NE, Roxanne Jacobs of Ottertail, MN, Michelle (Dan) Riepe of Palm Bay, FL, a brother, Donald (Rose) of Bellevue, NE and a sister, Marianne (Ben) Williams of Warrenton, OR. Geraldine is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a brother, Ray.
