Frances Catherine Hofmann, age 93, peacefully passed away on May 21, 2021 in Perham, MN.
She was a lifetime resident of Richville, Minnesota. Frances was born on December 18, 1927 in Richville to Victor and Sophia Sundberg. She attended school in Richville and graduated from Perham High School. She was active in the 4H Club for most of her life. She had a love for beekeeping and was selected as Minnesota’s first Honey Queen.
Frances was a gifted musician and shared her gift playing piano and organ for local churches. She also enjoyed knitting and quilting. She met her true love, Ernst Hofmann, at a square dance in Richville and they were married in 1956.
Frances and Ernst started Hofmann Apiary and built it into a thriving business. They were involved in many community organizations and especially enjoyed their time volunteering for the Richville Senior Citizens Center. Frances was committed to her faith in Christ. She had a great sense of humor and a quick wit. She was always up for a game with friends or family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernst Hofmann; daughter-in-law, Karla Hofmann and grandson, Shane Hofmann.
She is survived by her sons, Russell Hofmann, Jack (Tammy) Hofmann; daughters, Peggy (Steve) Cox, and Pauline (Chris) McCray; ten grandsons, and five great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, May 24, 2021 at Schoeneberger Funeral Home in Perham, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Basswood Township.
