Elaine Kawlewski

Elaine Luella Kawlewski of Perham, MN died on September 7, 2019 at the age of 81. Elaine was born March 7, 1938 in Dent, MN to Andrew and Edna (Ellingson) Harthun. She graduated from Perham High School in 1956 and married Leonard Heinecke in 1958. Elaine and Leonard had two children: Pam and Rick.  On June 7, 1965 she married Roger Kawlewski and they had four children: Terry, Connie, Wendy and Trudy. Elaine was a very devoted wife and mother.

Elaine enjoyed spending time with her children, brothers, sisters and friends. As a wonderful cook and hostess, she always seemed to have a houseful. Elaine adopted many of her children’s friends as her own and she always made them feel so welcome and loved.

Surviving Elaine are her children Pam (Mark) Heard of Detroit Lakes, MN, Rick (Nora) Heinecke of Perham, Connie (Carl) Hoffmann of Vergas, MN, Wendy (Duane) Hendrickx of New York Mills, MN and Trudy (Shawn Honer) of Dent; grandchildren Garrett and Dustin (Sheri) Heard, Matthew and Jonathon Hoffmann, Nicholas and Alexandra Hendrickx, Colin Kawlewski-Arvig, Dan (Carmen), Mike (Catlin), Joe (Amelia) Heinecke and Lisa (Scott) Zimmerman; great-grandchildren Petyon and Weston Heard, Kyleen and Lucas Heinecke and Hollie and Stevie Zimmerman; her sister Linda (Ken) Aune; and brothers Ray Harthun, Larry (Jane) Harthun and Marlin (Robin) Harthun.

Preceding Elaine in death were her parents; her husband Roger; her son Terry; and siblings Carol (Errol) Hexum, Glen Harthun, Leroy Harthun and Patty Harthun.
