Edward Herman Christopher Ebeling, 93, of Perham, MN, died November 27, 2011, at Perham Living. Ed was born in Perham, on October 16, 1918, to Herman and Alvina (Ellenberg) Ebeling. He was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where he was baptized on November 3, 1918, and confirmed on June 6, 1932. Ed grew up near Perham where he attended St. Paul's Lutheran School, grades 1 thru 8, then Perham Public School, graduating in 1936. Ed was united in marriage to Emelia "Babe" Guck, on August 14, 1940. Their marriage was blessed with six children. Ed and Babe farmed until 1952 at which time he went to work at the Perham Coop Creamery. From 1960-1985, the couple owned and operated Ebeling Café in Perham.
During Ed's years of retirement he enjoyed spending time doing wood work, being involved with the Historical Society, volunteering at the Historical Museum and promoting Pioneer Days. He had a very strong faith and was so thankful for all the blessings God had given him throughout his lifetime. Ed loved St. Paul's Lutheran Church and School where he served on various boards. He enjoyed taping and delivering the Sunday Worship Service to shut-ins.
For the past six years, Ed resided at Perham Living. He treasured the time he spent with his friends and family and always welcomed the grandchildren and great-grandchildren when they came to visit.
Surviving Ed is his wife, of 71 years, Emelia "Babe", Perham, MN; four sons, Sgt. Major Edward Roger (Jan) Ebeling, USMC, Arlington, VA, Gary (Donna) Ebeling, Randy (Carol) Ebeling, and Bob Ebeling, all of Perham, MN; one daughter, Doris (Keith) Boehlke, Perham, MN; ten grandchildren, Daniel Ebeling, Mark (Susan) Ebeling, Jon (Jodee) Ebeling, Lisa (Ben) Evenson, Ginger Ebeling, Kelly Ebeling, Amy (Paul) Nordmeier, Christy (Nick) Woodard, Shawn (Leah) Ebeling, Angela (Travis)Aanenson; one step-grandchild, Jena Boehlke; ten great-grandchildren, Tabitha, Tyler, Madison, Zachary, Bailey, Brodey, Mason, Maddox, Kellan, and Coltan, and one step-great-grandchild, Katlyn.
Preceding Ed in death are his parents; one son, Daniel, and two sisters, Laura Bahls and Ellen Rogers.
