Duane Joseph Reed, age 54, of Perham, MN, died tragically in the early hours of January, 14, 2012, when his truck rolled over and he was thrown from the vehicle. He was taken to Perham Health where he was pronounced dead.
Duane was born on May 4, 1957, the son of Leonard and Joann (Otto) Reed, in Browerville, MN. He grew up on the family farm where he helped with chores and all other farm activities. This is where his love of tractors began. Duane attended Browerville High School and later went on to attend Technical College in Staples, MN, graduating with a degree in Diesel Mechanics.
After college, Duane lived in Luverne and Willmar, MN, before settling in Perham. He loved working on tractors and diesel engines almost as much as he loved spending time with his family and friends. Duane was the type of person that everyone liked being around and talking to, mostly because he was always willing to help someone in need and never turned anyone away. He always put everyone first and himself last. Duane will truly be missed by everyone.
Duane is survived in life by his daughter, Alicia (Toby) Page and his grandchildren, Isaac, Bailey and Kaylynn Page. He is also survived by his sister, Leann (Dan) Herman and his brothers, Marvin, Randy (Jane), Lawrence (Clarice), and John (Debbie) Reed as well as his step-father, John Miller.
Preceding Duane in death are his parents, Leonard Joseph Reed and Joann Margaret Miller (Reed).
