Donna M. Ward, age 78 of Perham, Minnesota, died Friday, November 23, 2012 at Sanford Health in Fargo, North Dakota.
Donna was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on May 8, 1934, the daughter of Royale and Eleanor (Stickney) Arvig. She grew up in the Melrose, Minnesota area in her pre-school years and later moved to Wadena, Minnesota. In 1950, her father purchased the Perham Telephone Company and the family moved to Perham. On June 8, 1954 Donna was united in marriage to Marvin Ward. Marvin and Donna moved to Michigan where Marvin attended College. After graduating, Marvin got a job working for the Social Security Administration and they continued to live in Michigan. In 1984, they moved back to Minnesota to work in the family business – Arvig Communications, Donna as Vice President.
Donna loved to read and was a wonderful homemaker. She worked for Arvig Communications for many years. She loved her church and church family. Donna will be greatly missed by all.
Preceding Donna in death are her parents; brother-in-law, Clint Foreman; brother-in-law, Eugene Ward and his wife Saundra.
Surviving Donna is her husband, Marvin Ward; son, Bruce (Holly) Ward; grandchildren, Kirstin and Madeline; brother, Allen (Carmen) Arvig; sister, Janice (Jerry) Theodorson; three sisters-in-law, Marjorie (Bill) Schnibbe of Oregon, Cleo Foreman of Lacombe, Alberta, Canada, and Connie (Kevin) Wellman of Tennessee; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
