Dennis Wayne Hein, age 76 died peacefully in his home with his wife, Mary, by his side. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2013 beginning at 1:30 PM at the United Methodist Church of Richville, MN with Pastor Rod Tornquist officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 12:30-1:30 PM on Sunday. Burial will take place in the Richville Village Cemetery.
Dennis was born December 31, 1936, the oldest child of Lauren and Marie (Wells) Hein. He attended a one room school house near his home and later attended Perham High School. He was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church of Richville. He served in the Army for three years as a sharp shooter and was stationed in Panama. After his honorable discharge, Dennis married Mary Byram on July 25, 1959. They made their home in rural Richville where Dennis worked as a building contractor until his health forced him into retirement. Dennis was well known to all as the "go to man" for constructions advice. He was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Richville and was not only instrumental in the ongoing physical structure of the building through two reconstructions, but also the spiritual well-being of the church as a leader, that many members and pastors have turned to.
Surviving Dennis is his wife, Mary Hein; son, Donald (Sandy) Hein of Omaha, NE; daughter, Cindy (David) Schroeder of Sabin, MN; son, Jason (Tamara) Hein of Cypress, CA; daughter, Monica (David) Crowley of Moorhead, MN; ten grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two great-grandsons; brothers, Larry, Doyle (Karen), and Terry (Tracy); sisters, Karen (Tony) Kawlewski, and Tammy (Brian) Thiele, as well as many nephews and nieces.
Preceding Dennis in death are his parents; four brothers; and one sister-in-law.
