Deloris Brown

Deloris M. Brown, age 89, of Richville, MN, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Society in Battle Lake, MN.

She was born to Frank and Viola (Malcolm) Hunter on February 10, 1933, in Valley City, ND. She left school at an early age to help milk cows by hand on the family dairy farm.

Deloris was working at the Pleasant View Resort when she met Carlos Brown. The two would marry on December 22, 1950. Together with Carlos, and then with their children, the couple enjoyed fishing, camping, and making trips to Montana, Texas, and Branson, Missouri.

Deloris had an over 40-year career as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant, starting in Ottertail, and then retiring from Perham Memorial Hospital at the age of 67.

In her free time, Deloris could be found tending to her flower garden or enjoying a variety of needlework such as crocheting, quilting, or embroidering dish towels to gift to family and friends. She also loved visiting with her kids and grandkids and going on drives, just to see where she would end up.

Deloris is survived by her sons, Levi (Debra), Warren (Tonie), Leroy, Wayne; daughter, Gail (Jon) Morton; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and sisters, Patricia Adams and Betty Seiple. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carlos; twin baby girls born sleeping; her parents; grandsons, Timothy Hauge and Christopher Brown; brother, Elmer Hunter; sister, Barbara Honer, and daughter-in-law, Charlotte Brown.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Schoeneberger Funeral and Cremation Service in Perham. Visitations will be held on Wednesday, June 22, from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery near Richville.
