Delores Mae (Silbernagel) Sazama, age 84 of Perham, MN passed away on August 21, 2020 at Perham Living with her children at her side. She was cared for by Hospice of the Red River Valley and the wonderful staff at Perham Living who was her second family.
Delores was born on August 7, 1936 to Paul and Gertrude (Lederman) Silbernagel. On July 12, 1954 Delores was united in marriage to Bernard Joseph Sazama. Together they raised eleven children living on the family farm until Bernard retired and they moved to Perham. Delores decided to work at Perham Memorial Hospital & Home until her retirement. She loved to fish, bake, garden and sew. She also spent time upholstering including reupholstering the pews and kneelers at church. Bernard and Delores loved to dance and spent many hours playing cards with relatives and friends. Delores was a long-standing member of Christian Mothers at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dent, MN.
She will be dearly missed by her family. Surviving Delores are her children; Robert (Laurie) Sazama, Dennis (Jacquie) Sazama, Donna (Mike) Ruther, Paul (Machelle) Sazama, Janice (Jack/Laren) Lubitz, Joseph (Diane) Sazama, Julie (Gordy) Rosenthal, Gordon (Robin) Sazama, Jeff Sazama, Rodney (Deb) Sazama; thirty-two grandchildren; Mechelle, Felecia, Jeremiah, Joshua, Jerrell, Carrie, Angie, Christopher, Chelsea, Kaylee, Dennis Jr., Amber, Aaron, Andrea, Jay, Amanda, Jessica, Jamie, Tyler, Blake, Casey, Jacob, Samantha, Alexander, Byron, Justin, Keisha, Brady, Sasha, Logan and Matthew; forty-two great grandchildren; John, Anthony, Harper, Indie, Ashley, Brandon, Justice, Zachary, Andrew, Emily, Rachel, Adam, Roselee, Reata, Nathan, Madison, Brock, Ellyana, Journey, Wyatt, Riley, Ethan, Hunter, Mason, Nora, Drew, Jackson, Parker, John, Jake, George, Elizabeth, Joseph, Madelynn, Aiden, Austin, Ethan, Lane, Brynlee, Emmie, Madison, Sullivan and soon to be number forty-three; one great great grandchild Abigail; and brother Charles Silbernagel.
Preceding Delores in death were her parents; husband Bernard; son and daughter in law Jerome and Lynette; grandson Kelly; infant Grandchildren and great grandchildren Jason, McKayline, Levi; daughter-in-law Jane; and her brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 27 5-8 p.m. at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service with rosary at 6:30 p.m. and parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday August 28 from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Perham. Interment will be on Saturday, August 29 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church cemetery in Perham.
