Deborah Jean (Agnew) Conlee was born in Litchfield, Minnesota on June 24, 1971 to Penny (Fjerstad) Jessop and Pete Agnew. She passed away surrounded by family and friends on June 14, 2023.
After graduating from Dassel-Cokato High School in 1989, Deb attended Mankato State University. While she worked for several companies during her life, one of her favorite jobs was with her mother and stepfather at Color-Tek Coatings in Frazee, MN. She truly enjoyed learning the art of matching paint and stain, and loved interacting with customers.
Deb struggled her entire life with mental illness and addiction. Despite many stays in rehabilitation and mental health facilities over the years, she ultimately succumbed to the ravages of chronic alcohol abuse. Above all else, her family wishes the world to know that she was a kind and caring soul who loved deeply, but her illness was ultimately too much to overcome. Those struggling with addiction deserve just as much care and compassion as those battling other illnesses.
She is preceded in death by her father, Pete Agnew and stepfathers, Dennis Nordberg and Tom Jessop. She is survived by her mother, Penny Jessop (Detroit Lakes); son, Ethan Conlee (Michigan), Chloe Laudon (Detroit Lakes); sisters, Kristen Peterzen (Litchfield) and Mandy Rubenstein (Detroit Lakes); brothers, Alex Nordberg (Fargo), Nick Nordberg (Aitkin); and many nieces and nephews. She is also being remembered by her long-time friend Israel White (International Falls).
A Celebration of Deb's life will be held at a later date.
