. After graduating high school he enrolled in the US Marines for a short time. Dean came back to the Perham area and attended Wadena Vo-Tech where he received his license in HVAC. He was employed with Lund Boats for a year and then went to work for Tuffy’s Dog Food. Dean enjoyed playing his guitar and even played with the idea of starting a band. He liked camping in the Perham area and hanging out with the guys at Suds where he met his fiancée, Jamie. Dean had recently purchased a house in Perham that he shared with Jamie and her three children, Noah, Madison and Rhiah. This was a big step for him since he had told his mother that he never wanted children. These kids became very special to him and he would often play Wii games with them and even helped teach Rhiah to walk. He loved them very much. Dean also had a truck he was very fond of and people knew it was him when they saw that blue Dodge Dakota. It was an ongoing joke with Dean and his step-father that he should sell the truck to him after it broke down because Dean didn’t know how to fix it. But he never would.
Dean is survived by is mother and step-father, Debra Hansen-Moan and Jeffrey Moan; father, Dean Hansen, Jr.; sisters and brothers, Mandy Hansen, Jesse Moan, Alissa Moan, Dylan Moan, Brandon Hansen, Ben Hansen, and Angela Vogel-Jensen; and many nieces and nephews.
