David Lawrence Schram, age 38, of Tucson, AZ, formerly Detroit Lakes, MN, died peacefully on November 18, 2006, under the care of Hospice at Carondelet Health Network in Tucson, AZ. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2006, at 11:00 am in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Frazee, MN, with Reverend William Aufdenkamp officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 2, from 9:30 am -11:00 at the church.
David was born December 16, 1967, in Detroit Lakes, MN, to Pamela (Gregory) Schram and Larry Schram. He received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at the age of nine and was recently a member with the Battle Lake Baptist Church. He and his sister, Jami Kae, grew up in Detroit Lakes, Hopkins, and Eden Prairie, MN. He graduated from Detroit Lakes High School, earned his Associate Degree from Bemidji State University, and his MBA in Business Management from the University of Wisconsin. His first sales position was with KDLM radio in Detroit Lakes. He married Noelle C. Mattson in 1995 in Eden Prairie, MN. He then moved to the Dana Corp. in Plymouth, MN, and became Purchasing Manager for the Ohio branch. He was most recently employed with the RCA Corp. in El Paso, TX, as Purchasing Manager for the SW Division of the North America Corp. He and Noelle were divorced in Monticello, MN.
David was forced into early business retirement for health reasons but continued his work in helping others as an active Christian, while residing in the Fergus Falls, MN, area for the past five years. He was an avid Bible student, active outdoorsman, and kept a courageous lifestyle while battling Crohn's Disease for 30 years. David spent many happy hours hunting with his parents, his closest friend, Phillip Poppenhagen, and college friends and business associates. He also will be missed by the "great ice fisherwoman," June Pearson, "who gets the walleye when it counts."
David is survived by his mother, Pamela Gregory, Frazee, MN; his father, Larry Schram, Chanhassen, MN; sister, Jami Kae (Rick) Day; nieces, Laura and Abby Day; nephew, Grant Day; maternal aunt, Penny; paternal aunt, Carol; paternal uncle, Spencer; their families and David's cousins.
David is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Lenore Gregory; and paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Phyllis Schram.
