David J. Schmid, age 52, of Dent, MN, formerly Holiday, FL, died Saturday, June 23, 2007, at MeritCare Health Systems, Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 27, at 2:00 pm at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, MN, with Father Joe Herzing officiating. Burial will take place in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Dent, MN. Visitation will be held June 27, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
David John Schmid was born February 3, 1955, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Donald and Geraldine (Johnson) Schmid. David attended school in Chaska, MN. He was employed as a carpenter but spent his spare time fishing and working with plants. Dogs and cats held a special place in his heart.
David is survived by his parents, Donald "Boots" and Geraldine, Dent, MN; a daughter, Shelynn Schmid, St. Peter, MN; four grandchildren; one brother, Ronald (Linda) Schmid, Winsted, MN; two sisters, Nancy Schleeve, St. Peter, MN; and Pam (Dave) Schulz, Holiday, FL; one nephew, three nieces, and his special friend, Marie Struble, Holiday, FL.
