Funeral services for David Eugene Lunde, age 59, of Grand Junction, CO, will be Thursday, June 24, 2004, beginning at 2:00 p.m., with visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., at the Perham Community Church, with Pastor Tom Mitchell officiating. Burial will take place in the Veteran?s Memorial Cemetery of Grand Junction, CO. David died Monday, June 21, 2004 at the Perham Memorial Hospital.
David was born the son of Edmund and Delia (Musil) Lunde, in Langdon, ND, on January 17, 1945. He grew up and attended school there, graduating from high school in 1963. He entered the U.S. Marines, pulling 13 months duty in Viet Nam. Following his four year enlistment, David received his honorable discharge in California where he then lived for the next four years. David attended Cal-State Fullerton, in Fullerton, CA, earning a Bachelors of Science degree in Business and majoring in Computer Science. He was united in marriage to Charlene Peach at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dent, MN, on August 28, 1971. The couple returned to live in California. From California, they moved to Longmont, CO, where they lived seventeen years and then to Durango, CO, where they lived for eleven years. He worked as an electrician and then for Amoco Oil Production for twenty-two years. David retired to Grand Junction, CO where he and Charlene have resided for the past three years. They enjoyed spending the summer months on Star Lake, rural Dent, MN. David also enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling and fixing things. He had a gift to be able to fix anything. He enjoyed life and visiting with people as well as attending Bible Study Classes at the Perham Community Church.
Surviving David is his wife, Charlene, of Grand Junction, CO; daughter, Heather Lunde, of Greeley, CO; son, Chad Lunde, of Bayfield, CO and two sisters, Eloise (Norm) Jacobson, of Bowden, ND and Corraine (John) Spake, of Marengo, IA.
Preceding David in death are his parents and a sister, Melinda.
