Darlene Amelia (Bloedorn) Andresen-Swenson, age 79, of Perham, MN, died Monday, August 1, 2011, at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.
Darlene was born in Wisner, Nebraska, on October 20, 1931, the daughter of August and Mary (Rode) Bloedorn. She attended school in rural Wisner, the town of Wisner as well as West Point, Nebraska. Darlene was united in marriage to Elmer Andresen in West Point. They had three children, Terry, Sandra and Judy. The family left Nebraska in 1964 to move Perham where they owned and operated Mosquito Heights Resort until 1987. The Andresens then moved to Detroit Lakes. Following Elmer's death, Darlene married Irving Swenson in 1994. They lived on Rose Lake, rural Vergas, MN; Naples, Florida and then Perham, MN.
Surviving Darlene are her children, Sandra (David) Karle and Judy (George) Belka; step-children, Jan (John) Frank and Barbara (Gary) Ware; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one brother, Cecil (Lavern) Bloedorn as well as her nieces and nephews.
Preceding Darlene in death is her first husband, Elmer Andresen; 2nd husband, Irving Swenson; son, Terry Andresen; her parents and grandparents.
