Daniel William Mueller, age 63, of Ottertail, MN, died November 14, 2012 at Perham Health.
Dan was born in Bagley, MN, on January 20, 1949, the son of Virgil and Allene (McGrane) Mueller. He was baptized at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bagley. Dan graduated from Perham High School and received a Business degree from Moorhead State University. He married Cathy Boll on August 4, 1984.
Dan was an avid golfer and loved to follow many other sports on TV. He had a keen intellect and a sharp wit. He read widely, had many interests, held strong opinions and enjoyed travel to Europe and Central America. One friend once said "while traveling you couldn't get Dan out of a church, and at home you couldn't get him into one!" Dan was an outdoorsman and spent his youth hunting and fishing and he loved his home and 5 acres of land near Otter Tail Lake. He supported the reintroduction of wild turkeys and was a board member of the National Wild Turkey Federation – Ottertail, MN. He was also an active member of the Ottertail Rod & Gun Club. Dan worked at Land O'Lakes in Perham for 27 years retiring in 2008.
Preceding Dan in death is his father, Virgil William Mueller.
Surviving Dan is his wife, Cathy Mueller, of Ottertail, MN; son, Christopher and three grandchildren, Thea, Christina, and Devin, of St Cloud, MN; mother, Allene Mueller, of Perham, MN; brother, Greg (Corinne) Mueller, of Detroit Lakes, MN; sisters, Debra (John) Babcock, of Sartell, MN; and Marie (James) Bracey, of Winchester, England; and nieces and nephews, Lynn Mueller, of Minneapolis, MN; David Mueller, of Maumee, OH; Rachel (Chad) Imker, of Chicago, IL; Aaron Babcock, of Minneapolis, MN; Andrew Babcock, of St. Paul, MN; and C. Anne Babcock of Minneapolis, MN.
Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
