Daniel Henry Darco II, better known as Jay, was born January 19, 1923, at his home in Beaulieu, MN, to Daniel H Darco I and Antonette (Terway) Darco. Jay married Johanna Loerzel on November 26, 1954. He served in the US Army during WWII and was given a Purple Heart for being shot in the elbow. He was proud to serve in the Army. Jay's most prized possession was his little dog Kei-wei, better known as Annie, and his John Deere lawn mower for mowing his lawn. He also loved farming, raising beef cattle, and cutting wood on his farm. He owned his farms from 1961-2002. Jay thought a lot of the many friends he made while running his shops; Jay's Auto Repair, 1955-59; and Dent Oil, 1959-89, when he retired. He loved to watch the Twins and Vikings on TV and never missed any! He also had a love for John Wayne movies.

Jay is survived by his wife, JoAnne, Dent, MN; three sons, Daniel H Darco III, Dean Darco, and David Darco; four grandchildren, Heather, Shannon, Dustin, and Derek; four great grandchildren, Talley, Savanna, Madison, and Gracie Jo; two sisters, Hazel Garland, Oregon; and Alverta Bell, Texas; and two brothers, Lester Darco and Everette (Gloria) Darco, all of Mahnomen, MN.

Preceding Jay in death are his parents; sister, Ruby LaVoy, Mahnomen, MN; and a brother, Kenneth Darco, Greece.
