Craig died from injuries sustained in a car accident near Perham.
Craig was born the son of Calmer and Lillian (Lee) Christopherson, at Trinity Hospital in Minot, North Dakota, on May 3, 1952. He was baptized at Christ Lutheran Church in Minot. In 1959, Cal moved his family to Minnesota and in 1966, settled in Elbow Lake, MN. Craig was confirmed at the Elbow Lake United Lutheran Church. Following his graduation from Elbow Lake High School in 1970, Craig attended school at the Alexandria Technical Institute in Alexandria, Minnesota. On March 10, 1972, Craig was united in marriage to Judith Olson. The couple moved to Fargo, North Dakota, where Craig worked at the then known Moorhead Red Owl. Craig and his family moved back to Elbow Lake, Minnesota, in 1976, where he became the assistant manager of Duane's Red Owl. He managed Duane's Red Owl until he and his family moved to Barnesville, Minnesota, in 1981, where Craig purchased his first grocery store. From the age of 16, Craig was involved in the grocery business.
Craig was a man of laughter. He prided himself on his independence and supporting his family. Craig and his business partner recently purchased the Pelican Rapids SuperValu, to add to their ownership of the Barnesville SuperValu. Craig was deeply dedicated to the communities he resided in. He was a charter member of the Fargo SuperValu Advertising Council and a member of the SuperValu Retail Advertisory Board. Craig was dedicated to his employees and a valued business associate to all.
Craig's dream was to retire with his best friend, his wife, Judy, and wake up every morning and look out upon the lake. He spoke often of his love and pride for his family. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, hunting, snowmobiling, and relaxing at their home on Big Pine Lake and their Perham "woods" getaway. Craig's enormous heart, friendly greetings, and ability to make you laugh at any given moment will be greatly missed!
Surviving Craig is his wife, Judy, of Perham, Minnesota; one daughter, Kima (Kenard) Booker, and their children, Kytlen, Kaleb and Kolbe, of Muskogee, Oklahoma; three sons, Daniel (Marti) Christopherson, of Fargo, North Dakota, Derek (Jennifer) Christopherson, and their son expected in July, of Bismarck, North Dakota, Michael Christopherson, of Browns Valley, MN; his mother, Lillian Christopherson, of Fargo, North Dakota; and siblings, Deanna (Dave) Johnson, of New Richmond, Wisconsin, Gailen Christopherson, of Barnesville, MN, Kevin (Candi) Christopherson, of Erhard, MN and Carla (Chuck) Gingerich, of Moorhead, Minnesota.
