Connie Rae Doll, age 54, of Perham, MN, died May 12, 2005 at her home lovingly surrounded by family and friends. Funeral services will be held at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Perham, Monday, May 16, 2005 beginning at 11:00 a.m., with Reverends Leo Moenkedick and Peter Hughs officiating. Constance "Connie" Rae (Moenkedick) Doll was born in Perham November 17, 1950 to Ray and Marie (Perszyk) Moenkedick. She attended St. Henry's School for eight years and graduated from Perham High School in 1968. After attending Wadena Vocational Technical College she immediately took a secretarial position in St. Paul, MN, at the University of Minnesota-St. Paul Campus. Connie married her high school sweetheart, David Doll, on September 19, 1970. The next year they moved back to the Perham area as David began working at Tuffy's and Connie started at the Pines Gift Shop. They were blessed with their one and only child on October 30, 1977, Mandy Marie, who has been a miraculous blessing all of Connie's life. After 30+ years in retail at the Pines Gift Shop, Connie, with a partner and friend, opened The Corner Shoppe-Antiques & Compatibles. Not long after, the store closed as Connie began her struggle with cancer. Connie loved all the friendships she developed while working in retail. She loved interior decorating, antiques, and especially enjoyed gardening with her husband at her side. Family and friends made up the most important parts of each day.

Connie is survived by her husband and love, David, their daughter (the twinkle of her eye) Mandy Meyer and son-in-law Greg Meyer, whom she loved as if he were her own son; mother, Marie Moenkedick-Manthe, who was always there for her; her step-father James Manthe and his children. She is also survived by her in-laws, Jim and Deb Doll, Diane and Henry Benz, and Carol and Jack Doepke. By her nephews Steven and Sheila (Friesz) Moenkedick and their children, Joseph and Shelby; Dan Doll; Cory Doll; Jaye Doepke; and Wyatt Doepke; nieces Jennifer (Mike) Minten and children Billy, Benny, Jimmy and Gracey; and Terri (Mike) Snavley and children Stephanie, Samantha, Nathan, Lauren, and James. There are also numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Connie was preceded in death by her father Ray Moenkedick and sister Janice Moenkedick. Connie will be missed by all who were touched by her loving, compassionate and gracious ways. Her humor and outgoing personality were infectious to all who were around her. She left us with this quote of wisdom: "Nurture each day as if it were your last. As the seasons in life go much too fast." We'll miss you.

Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, is in charge of the arrangements. (218) 346-5175.
