Christopher Brown

Christopher A. Brown, age 32 of New York Mills, MN passed away on June 12, 2020 in Leonard, ND.   Chris was born on March 3, 1988 in Fergus Falls, MN to Wayne and Charlotte (Hauge) Brown.  Chris attended school in New York Mills and finished high school while being home schooled.  On completion of his schooling he joined his dad and brother working for Hogenson’s Construction and later Industrial Builders.

Chris cherished spending time with his family especially enjoying the outdoors.  He joined his brothers in racing dirt track cars.  Yearly hunting trips with his dad, brother and uncles in Montana was an outing that brought him much joy.  His hunting included deer, ducks and pheasants.  Chris also enjoyed fishing.

Chris had a huge heart and was a loveable person who always brought a smile to your face just like his mother.  He took pride in making people smile and he always had the biggest smile on his face which was how he got the nickname “smiley” from his uncle.  Chris had a knack for making kids happy as they always enjoyed playing cars with him.

Chris is survived by his father Wayne Brown, brothers; Danny and Joey Brown; paternal grandmother Deloris Brown and many cousins, aunts and uncles.

Preceding Chris in death is his mother Charlotte; paternal grandfather Carlos Brown; maternal grandmother Lois Kramer; maternal grandfather Elton Hauge; uncle Roger Hauge; and cousin Timmy Hauge.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 21 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service in Perham, Minnesota.   Visitation will continue Monday, June 22 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service.   Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery Richville, MN.
