The funeral service for Christine Ann (Nooyen) Peeters, 80, Perham, MN, formerly of Butler, MN, will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at 11 a.m. in Holy Cross Catholic Church, Butler, MN, with Father Joe Herzing officiating with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, August 22, from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 7 p.m. in the Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Christine died on Saturday, August 20, 2005 in the home of Joe and Carol Peeters in Dent, MN.
Christine Ann Nooyen was born the daughter of Hubert and Anna Maria (Martene) Nooyen on September 16, 1924 in St. Hubert, Netherlands. She immigrated to America in 1950 and was united in marriage to Peter Peeters on September 25, 1950 in the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Butler. They had three sons, Tony, John and Joe and farmed in rural Butler. They retired to a new home near Butler and after her husband passed away on November 26, 2001, she moved to Perham.
Christine lived a full and busy life. She learned to speak English when she arrived in America and worked in Chicago, IL, for a couple of years before they purchased a farm in Butler. She enjoyed gardening, doing chores and homemaking activities. She loved to knit, sew and visit. She was very particular in how her home looked and was very tidy and neat. She belonged to the Holy Cross Christian Mothers and sang in the church choir.
She is survived by three sons, Antonius "Tony" (Theresa Werner) of Butler, MN and their children, Laura, Cory, Michael, Anthony, Ryan and Erik; son John (Mary Rutten), Butler, MN and their children, Elizabeth, Margaret, Christina, Frank, Charlie, Marcie and Jack; son Joseph (Carol Rosenthal), Dent, MN and their children, Andy (Marcie), Audrey and Amy. She is also survived by her sisters, Annie, Josephine, Maria and Dora and a brother, Wim all of the Netherlands.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter, her parents, and brothers Piet, Toon, Martin and Wim.
