Barbara Conger

October 14, 1949 — January 11, 2016

Barbara "Barb" Agnes Conger, age 66 of Perham, MN passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Monday, January 11, 2016 in her home. She was born on October 14, 1949 to Elmer and Alma (Werner) Hemmelgarn in Perham.

Barb graduated from Perham High School in 1968. After graduation she started her career at Tuffy's Pet Foods until her retirement after 27 years.

Barb married the love of her life and childhood friend, Douglas Conger on January 3, 1989. With this union Barb welcomed daughter, Laura and son, Wayne. That year Barb and Douglas were blessed with their first daughter, Melissa and 15 months later, twins, Amanda and Aaron.

Barb loved the outdoors, gardening, fishing, flowers and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters, Rowan, Anna and Aubrey. Barb will always be remembered as a wonderful mom, grandma and friend to everyone.

Surviving Barb is her husband, Douglas Conger of Perham; her children, Laura (Steven) Mootz of Fargo, ND, Wayne Conger of Fargo, Melissa (Bradley) Weatherhead of Perham, Amanda Conger of New York Mills, MN and Aaron Conger of Menahga, MN; her granddaughter, Anna Weatherhead; her step-grandchildren, Rowan Boross and Aubrey Mootz; her sister, Sandra Cleveland of Casselton, ND; her sister-in-law, Michele Hemmelgarn of Grand Forks, ND; her brother-in-law, Clifford Avelsgard of Litchfield, MN; aunts, Agnes Hemmelgarn of Perham and Venoie Hemmelgarn of Audubon, MN; her uncle, Bill (Angie) Werner of Valley City, ND; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding Barb in death were her parents; her brother, Michael; her sisters, Donna and Maryann; and brother-in-law, Rod Cleveland.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 beginning at 12:00 noon followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Schoeneberger Funeral Home.
