Funeral services for Arthur G. Winjum, age 59, of Fergus Falls, MN, formerly of Perham, MN, will be Monday, June 21, 2004, beginning at 11:00 a.m., at St. Henry's Catholic Church, Perham, with Reverend David Rieder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, will be Sunday, June 20, 2004, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Art died at his residence in Fergus Falls, Thursday, June 17, 2004.
Art was born the son of Arthur C. Winjum and Sophie (Simonis) Winjum, on October 21, 1944, in Enderlin, ND. He attended and graduated from Perham High school in 1962. Art was also a member of the National Guard. He attended Barber School in St. Paul, MN, received his certificate and did his apprenticeship in St. Paul, MN. Following his apprenticeship, Art returned to Perham and bought Fritz?s Barbershop in the early 1970's where he continued to practice into the mid-1980's. Art retired from the barbershop and moved to Fergus Falls, MN. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Art loved to play cards, chess and especially pool. He also enjoyed painting and sketching.
Surviving Art are his siblings, Barbara (Joe) Perrotta, of Salem, NH, Karen (Paul) Krueger, of Nashua, NH, Ed (Sigrid) Winjum, of Perham, MN, Alice (Bill) Karst, of Fergus Falls, MN, Tom (Joann) Winjum, of Perham, MN, and Charlie (Deb)Winjum, of Thief River Falls,MN as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding Art in death are his parents and one brother, Garfield.
