Archie Aschnewitz

On the evening of June 27, 2019 Archie Aschnewitz answered the call of the Lord to join him in heaven.

Archie was the son of William and Vada (Verbeck) Aschnewitz. He was the youngest of two children. After graduating from Perham High School, he worked on the family farm near Dent, MN. He would later take over the farm after marrying the love of his life, Alettajan “Jane” Williamschen. Together they had four children: Daniel, Lynn, Leslie and Neil.

Archie lived a full life. He loved farming, especially the field work and took exceptional pride in his garden. His other passions were outdoor activities. He loved bird hunting, deer hunting, and ice fishing. Archie had the biggest smile when sharing his passions with others especially with his children and grandchildren. Archie was also an active member of the Perham Lions and the Masonic Lodge of Perham.

Archie will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Archie was preceded in death by his parents; wife Jane; and his brother Earl. Archie is survived by his children Daniel (Pat) Aschnewitz, Lynn (Mike) Standbrough, Leslie Aschnewitz and Neil (Linda) Aschnewitz; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 on Thursday, July 11 at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service in Perham. Visitation will continue from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by the memorial service at 11:00 on Friday, July 12 at the United Methodist Church in Dent, MN. Pastor Amy Strom will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Dent.
