Amelia C. Woessner, age 93, of Perham, MN, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at the Perham Memorial Nursing Home, Perham, MN, where she was a resident after suffering a fall in her apartment in 2006. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 30, 2007, beginning at 11:00 am at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Perham, with Father Joe Herzing officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 29, at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm with a prayer service at 5:00 pm. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to funeral services at the funeral home on Monday.
Amelia Cecelia Belka was born September 15, 1913, in Frazee, MN, the daughter of John and Martha (Sczygiel) Belka. She grew up in Corliss Township where her parents farmed all their lives. Amelia was married to Albert Woessner for over fifty years. She was employed at the Perham Cleaner and Taylor for many years and then for Swift Turkey Processing in Frazee, MN, until her retirement. Amelia was an active member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Perham. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved playing cards and bingo.
Amelia is survived by her son, Robert (Agatha) Woessner, Cary, NC; daughter, Mary Jane (Tony) Silbernagel, Chula Vista, CA; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Albert; brother, Leonard Sczygiel; two sisters, Theresa (Albert) Kunza, and Rose (Laurel) Weickert.
