Ambrose A. Doll, age 77 of Perham, MN went to be with the Lord on September 6, 2013 surrounded by his family and Red River Valley Hospice. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, September 9, 2013 beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Henry's Catholic Church, Perham with Father Matthew Kuhn officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 PM with parish prayers at 7:00 PM at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the memorial mass at the church on Monday. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.

Ambrose "Ambie" was born on May 6, 1936 to Raymond and Elizabeth (Schornack) Doll. He attended St. Henry's Catholic School and graduated from Perham High School in 1954. Ambie was united in marriage to Joyce Vandenberghe from Sebeka, MN and would be celebrating their 56th wedding anniversary on September 24. They were blessed with six children.

Ambie was a businessman in Perham for several years working at Coast to Coast and later owning and operating Dolls Men's Wear. The majority of his career was spent at Perham Memorial Hospital and Home as Maintenance Engineer until his retirement in 1998.

Ambie enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking, playing cards and especially loved spending time with his family.

Surviving Ambie is his wife, Joyce; six children, Denice (Mark) Phillips-Kunze, Becky (Paul) Winkels, Brenda (Ed) Martodam, Carol (Dan) Schmitz, David Doll, and Mary (Curt) Erickson; brothers, Eugene, Denis and Paul Doll; sister, Sharon Glander; brother-in-law, Roger Askelson; grandchildren, Stephanie, Chris, Rob and Nicole Phillips, Jon Winkels and Kelly Gunderson, Amy Kern and Joe Martodam, Heidi and Charlie Schmitz, Isaac, Daniel and Ayanna Doll, Brady, Austin and Analea Erickson; and 14 great-grandchildren which he truly cherished.

Preceding Ambie in death are his parents; sister, Rita Askelson; brothers, Michael and Henry Doll; and precious grandson, Matthew Martodam.
