Alan Priebe

Alan Grant Priebe, age 68, of Perham , MN , died Saturday, February 13, 2010 , at home with his family after a courageous two year battle with cancer.


Al was born January 26, 1942 , at St. John’s Hospital in Fargo , ND , to John “Jack” and Lila ( Walker ) Priebe. He graduated from Hannaford (ND) High School in 1959 and Moorhead State University in 1966 with a BS in Education and a minor in accounting. On December 29, 1962 , he married Evelyn Schoeneberger in Perham , MN , and together they had three children. They lived in Fargo , ND ; Moorhead , MN ; West Fargo , ND ; Adelaide , South Australia ; Boulder , CO ; and Perham , MN . Al worked for Northern Improvement Company, Steiger Tractor, Inc., Dorso American Trailer Sales, Perham Hospital and Home, and then purchased Little Pine Machine Shop and ran that business until he sold it and retired in 2000. His work for Steiger took him all over the country and the world. Al was a past member of the Perham Rotary Club and long-time member of the Little Pine Lake Association and the East Ottertail County Fair Board.



Al is survived by his wife of 47 years, Evelyn, Perham, MN; son, Bob (Mara) Priebe, Perham, MN; two daughters, Cindi (Darren) Appert, Fergus Falls, MN; Patti (Dave) Schumacher, Lincoln, NE; one brother, Larry (Connie) Priebe, Austin, MN; nine grandchildren, Leah Priebe, Moorhead, MN; Aaron and Max Priebe, Perham, MN; Kelsey, Rachel and Camryn Appert, Fergus Falls, MN; and Jackson, Emma and Chloe Schumacher, Lincoln, NE; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.



Preceding Al in death are his parents, John and Lila Priebe.



Memorials are preferred to Lakeland Hospice, St. Henry’s Area School or family choice.
