Alan Hunter, age 37, of Richville, MN, died Thursday, May 24, 2007, from injuries sustained in a semi accident near Scott City, MO while bringing back the last load of bees for the season. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at 11:00 am at United Methodist Church, Richville, MN, with Pastor Rod Tornquist officiating. Burial will follow at the Richville Village Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 29, at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm and also one hour prior to services at the church.
Alan Eugene Hunter was born July 21, 1969, in Perham, MN, the son of Elmer and Dorothy (Scheiding) Hunter. Alan attended school in Perham, Minnesota, and later moved to Groton, South Dakota, to finish out his schooling years. Alan had a relationship with Heidi Licence. They had two children, Adam and Alicia. Alan was united in marriage to Tracy Kawlewski on October 2, 1999. They moved to Richville where they went on to have two children, Haley and Hannah.
Alan started out his beekeeping career while working with Leonard and Larry Sundberg. He then moved to Fergus Falls to work for Sundberg Apiaries as a beekeeper for David, Ellen, Mark, and Tanya Sundberg. Alan also enjoyed his part-time employment for Quaal Dairy with John, Connie, and Vernon. Each of his employers were like family to him and he always knew they felt the same of him.
Alan was a very giving man and was always willing to help everyone. You could always count on him. He was always joking around and loved to be the one to get his nieces and nephews riled up, he was the life of family events. Alan was a jack of all trades; there wasn't any project too big for him to take on. He continually worked to improve his and Tracy's home and would do anything to please her. He was, and is, the love of her life! His children were his greatest pride. Alan was always trying to give them all he could and they each held a special place in his heart. They loved to spend time with their dad.
His mother, brothers, and sisters were all dear to him. He wanted the best for them and tried to help out whenever he could.
Alan is survived by his wife, Tracy who treasured him dearly, and four children, Adam(14), Alicia(12), Haley(8), and Hannah(3); his loving mother, Dorothy Hunter, Richville, MN; four wonderful brothers, Richard (Veronica) Vennes, Richville, MN; Larry Vennes, Swatara, MN; Lloyd Hunter, Richville, MN; and Kyle Hunter, Richville, MN; four sisters, Barb (Kyle) Branchaud, Motley, MN; Laurie (Mike) Walters, Richville, MN; Judy (Daniel) Woody, Grand Rapids, MN; and Joan Villnow (Steve O?Brien), Vergas, MN; father-in-law, Larry Kawlewski, Richville, MN; mother and step father-in-law, Barb and Mike Adams, Richville, MN; sisters-in-law, Tanya (Rick) Sazama, Richville, MN; TamiJo (Doug) Hopwood, Dent, MN; Tara (Jeremy) Skogen, New York Mills, MN; Tina Kawlewski, Dilworth, MN; and Trisha and Tory Kawlewski, both of Richville, MN; brothers-in-law, Joseph, Jonathon, Jacob, and Jared, all of Richville, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
Alan is preceded in death by his father, Elmer Hunter; grandparents, Violet and Frank Hunter and Lloyd and Myrtle Scheiding; sisters, Heidi Hunter and Sandy Hunter.
